Farmers’ Insurance Appears in Cafe World

Farmers’ Insurance has made an appearance in yet another Zynga game. In the past, they have appeared in Farmville. Today, the insurer has been added to the Cafe World game, for a limited time. Players who include the Farmers’ Insurance statue into their game get “Spoil Insurance”.

If you are on Facebook, then you probably are familiar with at least some of the games made by Zynga. If you play one of their games, it is impossible to remain unaware of the other fine games that this very successful game company has created. Little “reminders” appear in each of their games, (often disrupting game play), that suggest that a player should go try out the other Zynga games, too.

Hurricane Irene Cost to Vermont Could Top $1 Billion

Vermonts governor said Tropical Storm Irene could cost the tiny state more than $1 billion

Gov Peter Shumlin said that the state is still calculating the damage from the Aug 28 storm He pleaded with the federal government for help as he announced state financial assistance for towns struggling to make repairs

The package includes $24 million in accelerated state payments to help cash-strapped towns, including $62 million in town highway funds released this week rather than next month

Officials said local banks also are stepping in, providing short-term low collateral loans while the Vermont Municipal Bond Band will provide funding if banks need it

Shumlin said a top priority will be to get as much of a federal match as possible for infrastructure repairs once the state knows the extent of the damage

Dimont & Associates expands its claims processing services

California-based claims services provider, Dimont & Associates has expanded its claims service offering by adding comprehensive mortgage insurance claims processing and servicing compliance review and training.

The expanded services include processing for FHA, USDA & VA mortgage insurance claims, loss mitigation claims, PMI claims; FNMA & FHLMC reimbursement claims, and supplemental claims.

Heidi Schranz, former project director for HUD Single Family Post Claims Reviews, will oversee all private and government mortgage insurance claims filing for Dimont.

Under Schranz’s leadership of the mortgage insurance claims team, Dimont will provide industry partners with detailed services related to all mortgage product types, including loss mitigation options and home equity conversion mortgages.

In addition, Dimont has also joined with GWN Consulting, to provide Third Party Quality Assurance, Compliance Review and Training services for clients.

Happy Meals are Getting Healthier

In an effort to offer healthier meals to children, McDonalds plans to decrease the portion of French fries and include a fruit or vegetable serving in each of its Happy Meals.

The company, which has been under pressure from health advocacy groups to offer healthier food to children, rolled out a list of changes on Tuesday.

French fry holders will be reduced from 2.4 ounces to 1.1. The company tried cutting fries from kids’ meals entirely, but customers objected.

Side dishes will include apple slices, carrots, raisins, pinapple slices or mandarin oranges. The type of side dish will depend on the season and region.

The changes will take effect in September.
