AWH names executive members to Global Reinsurance Operations

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings (AWH) has made executive appointments in a bid to centralise its global reinsurance operations, led by Allied World Reinsurance Company president & chief operating officer John Bender.

Commenting on the new appointments, John Bender said the strategic changes will help the firm’s clients to better manage their global risk exposures.

American Families Just $95 Dollars Better Off In Ten Years Because Of Rising Health Care Costs

A median-income American family is only $95 per month better off today than ten years ago because rising health care costs have eliminated virtually all their income gains, researchers from the Rand Corporation revealed in the journal Health Affairs. Had health care costs risen in line with other goods and services those families would have had an extra $545 disposable income per month in 2009. Economist David Auerbach, the study’s lead author, said:

“Accelerating health care costs are a primary reason that the so many American families feel like they are just treading water financially.

What Do Insurance Brokers Do?

Recently, my husband and I visited with an insurance broker. Our purpose for being there was to find an affordable health insurance plan for me. My insurance broker was extremely helpful! Before I visited with her, I didn’t know much about what insurance brokers do. Here is what I have learned.

I picked up this pamphlet that was created by the National Association of Health Underwriters, (NAHU). The NAHU is a group that represents more than 100,000 licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants, and benefit professionals, across the United States. One of NAHU’s primary goals is to do everything they can to promote access to affordable health insurance coverage.
